BT launches a TV campaign for its new BT Yahoo! Broadband service next week. Clemmow Hornby Inge has created the ads, which feature two fictional West Coast US characters called Jimmy and Mickey and carry the tagline ‘The way the internet was meant to be’. Ten separate TV ads show the characters using early, primitive forms of the internet, before speeding forward in time to the current high-speed offerings available. The ads form part of a &£10m marketing campaign for the new service that will run until next March. National press, specialist magazines and online ads will also be included. BT Yahoo! Broadband was launched in June and will replace BT Openworld as BT’s consumer broadband service. Media is handled by the Allmond Partnership.
