Complaints about Jews for Jesus poster and press ad

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has received more than 40 complaints about a poster and press ad for Jews for Jesus – a Christian group that evangelises among the Jewish community – for being offensive and racist towards Jews. The ad uses the tagline: ‘Think for yourself’. The complainants, who include the Board of Deputies of British Jews, say that the ad implies that Orthodox Jews are unable to think for themselves. The ads are being investigated. The ASA is also looking into complaints from the Metropolitan Police about the Li

censed Taxi Drivers Association poster ads, which suggests that the Met Commissioner Sir John Stevens is turning a blind eye to the rapes and sexual assaults committed by unlicensed minicab drivers. The poster carries a photograph of Stevens beside the words: ‘233 sexual assaults and 54 rapes committed by minicab drivers. What’s he got to smile about?’
