IPC revamps Southbank women’s titles team

IPC Media has restructured its women’s division IPC Southbank, which publishes Marie Claire, around its core sectors of fashion, home interest, women’s lifestyle and special interest. It is believed that the move, a first for the division, is to help pave the way for new launches expected later this year.

As part of the restructure, the publisher of Practical Parenting, Wedding & Home and 19, Kirsten Lee, has been promoted to publishing director for special interests. The publisher of Woman & Home and Essentials, Linda Swidenbank has been promoted to publishing director of women’s lifestyle. Katy Egan, In Style’s publisher, has been promoted to publishing director.

The restructure also coincides with the appointment of former publishing director of Now magazine, Jackie Newcombe, to the position of publishing director of Marie Claire.

To support the new structure, three head of marketing positions have been created to report to the publishing directors.

In a separate move, IPC Advertising’s management team has also been rejigged. The group ad sales director for IPC tx and Connect, Mark Reen, has been promoted to group ad sales director for IPC Southbank. The division’s advertising director, Claire Dove, recently left the company without a job to go to (MW last week).
