Nissan marketing head joins Goodyear Dunlop

Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK has appointed the former UK marketing director of Nissan to be its first marketing director.

Neil Burrows is moving from Nissan Europe, where he was responsible for pan-European advertising and brand strategy at its Paris headquarters. Prior to moving to Paris, he was marketing director for Nissan UK, having previously been marketing director at Audi (MW July 2, 1998).

Burrows will be responsible for both Goodyear and Dunlop brands in the UK as well as the group’s Hi-Q service network. A new team of brand managers has been appointed to work with Burrows at the companies’ new headquarters in Birmingham.

Advertising agency Leagas Delaney has had an informal relationship with Goodyear Dunlop UK and is meeting Burrows next week. The agency has held the pan-European account for Goodyear for five years. Amsterdam-based advertising agency 180 holds the account for the Dunlop brand across Europe.

Goodyear Dunlop UK direct marketing roster agencies are Jubb Kerwell and M3 Communications. McCann-Erickson is the appointed media agency.

Nissan Europe has appointed Frédéric Wolf to replace Burrows. Earlier this month Paul Willcox moved from Nissan Europe to become the company’s UK marketing director, after Simon Thomas was promoted to sales director (MW October 2).

Goodyear Dunlop was created out of an alliance between Goodyear and Sumitomo, which owns the Dunlop brand.
