AXA Sun Life is looking for a marketing director, following the resignation of Frank Wilson.
Wilson joined AXA in 2000 from Prudential, where he was marketing director (MW November 30, 2000).
Wilson’s departure comes soon after those of several senior marketers at the insurance group. AXA UK group sales and marketing director John Bines left the French-owned insurance company in September to become director of supporter fundraising at Save the Children.
Last week, it was revealed that AXA Insurance marketing director Iain Watt has also left the company, after the role of marketing director was merged with underwriting. Kevin Sinclair is being promoted internally to become underwriting and marketing director. It is not known whether Watt has a job to go to.
The company says it has no plans to replace Bines, suggesting his role was no longer vital after the end of AXA’s sponsorship of the FA Cup ended in 2002. Head of brand Darrin Nightingale is now the company’s most senior marketer.
In June, AXA consolidated its &£23m ad account into J Walter Thompson, moving the business from TBWA/London (MW June 5).
AXA is in the process of unifying its global brands under the AXA umbrella. Pensions and savings company AXA Sun Life is slowly being rebranded as AXA Life, and medical insurance arm AXA PPP Healthcare will also lose the PPP from its name.
