DCH picks up £2m Warner Holidays deal

Warner Holidays has awarded its £2m advertising business to Doner Cardwell Hawkins (DCH).

Warner Holidays has awarded its &£2m advertising business to Doner Cardwell Hawkins (DCH).

The appointment was made by sales and marketing director Julie Gould. The business moves from Senior King Communications.

The win comes after DCH lost the &£2.4m SeaFrance business to HDM Communications in September (MW September 25).

Warner Holidays is owned by Bourne Leisure. It bought the business, along with sister companies Butlins, Oasis and Haven, in September 2000 from Rank Group in a &£700m deal. Warner Holidays specialises in exclusive short-break holidays for adults at its 13 UK hotels and country house locations. It also operates a Warner Cruising product.

Gould, who has previously worked as marketing director at Oasis Forest Holiday Village, took the Warner Holidays post in October 2001 when predecessor Marc Jones moved to Butlins as sales and marketing director.

Jones was ousted from Butlins in January and was appointed distribution and marketing director for recruitment newspaper Job Opportunities in October (MW October 16).

Senior King created a DRTV campaign for the brand to run in the London region last year. The aim was to boost Warner Holidays’ appeal to the younger end of the 35-plus market.
