Tizer launches TV campaign

Tizer is launching a television campaign this week, created by BDH/TBWA, as part of owner Barr Soft Drinks’ &£1.5m rebranding of the fizzy drink. The ads focus on the colour red and carry the strapline: ‘Itz a red thing’. Tizer’s packaging will also carry the line ‘Itz red’. The ads were directed by Pete Candeland, who worked on the music videos for animated pop group Gorillaz. They show a baboon and a lobster, portrayed as underdogs, winning out thanks to their association with the colour red. Tizer brand manager Jacqueline Pye says: ‘The ads reflect Tizer’s new positioning as a cool, slightly irreverent, brand that appeals to a wider age range.’ Media is handled by PHD.
