Merged ITV Sales names cinema chief
Carlton Screen Advertising (CSA) chief executive Deborah Chalet has been appointed as cinema director-designate for ITV Sales, the merged sales operation of Carlton and Granada.
Chalet retains her responsibilities at CSA and will report to ITV Sales managing director-designate Graham Duff.
Further appointments, to the positions of director of knowledge management, director of sales operations, director ITV sales and director of customer relationship management, are expected next week.
Chalet has been with CSA for 11 years and has a TV sales background, taking in Carlton and Thames TV. CSA sells cinema advertising in the UK, US and continental Europe and generated sales of &£60.1m in 2002. This represents an estimated six per cent of Carlton’s turnover.
CSA has also appointed Matt Sunderland to the position of director of marketing services. He joins from the position of commercial marketing manager at CNN International and is a former head of marketing and new media for the Sci-Fi Channel. He replaces Sandra Dickinson, who left for personal reasons in September.
Granada chairman Charles Allen is expected to set out the strategy for the future of ITV today (Wednesday). He will become chief executive of ITV plc when the &£4.7bn merger is completed. He is also expected to report a rise in earnings at Granada as part of the company’s full-year results.
