While everyone else on the estate is laying on sherry for grandma’s Boxing Day visit, and whittling down the Christmas present list… While the annoying pretentious family from the cul-de-sac are putting together the annual bulletin they send out with all their cards (complete with clip art from Anthony’s new computer)… While little Johnny is trying to climb up his parents’ wardrobe to discover that he isn’t getting a giant spaceship for Christmas after all… Someone is decorating the outside of their house. Enormous reindeer gallop along the roofline as a sack-wielding Santa climbs the gable end. Singing gnomes throng the rockery and the baby Jesus sleeps in a sleigh atop the carport. In the agency world, the place of that household is taken by Imagination, which has done up its London head office in Kyoto-busting style. The company also has a gigantic tree, dressed up with 26,000 bulbs. The Diary, with a silver twig and a couple of painted hazelnuts, can only shout ‘Humbug!’ from the sidelines…
