Aquados appoints chief executive after overhaul

Derek Warner, formerly divisional managing director of chemicals company Degussa, has been named as the chief executive of detergents maker Aquados after an overhaul of the company’s managerial structure.

The news coincides with the Glasgow-based company’s search for an agency to create a marketing and advertising campaign. The company’s previous agency, Faulds Advertising, dissolved last year shortly after being appointed to the &£2m account (MW July 3, 2003).

Warner will create his own managerial team, and will search for a suitable candidate to fill the newly created position of marketing director.

David Macauley, who has been in charge of marketing at Aquados in his role of chief operating officer, has become a consultant for the company.

Macauley says: “The company has a great deal of new investment, and this really marks the beginning of the next stage in our development. The new chief executive will build the right team and find the right agency to take the company forward.”

Aquados founder Gerry Hinton, who owns the patent to Aquados’s innovative one-dose powder product range, will remain chairman. Hinton will also take charge of the development of the business in Asia and the Pacific Rim.
