BSkyB’s betting and gaming business, SkyBet, has handed its &£5m advertising account to Mother.
Incumbent Phillipson Ward Longworth Camponi (PWLC), HHCL/Red Cell, which handles the main Sky creative account, and Farm were also understood to have pitched for the business. The review was conducted through the AAR and overseen by SkyBet managing director Nick Rust.
PWLC was appointed last October to handle the business, along with media agency DS Emotion.
Punters can place bets with SkyBet using a variety of methods including online, fixed-line and mobile telephones and interactive television.
Last year, SkyBet launched an online and interactive service offering punters the chance to place bets on numerous casino games, called SkyBetVegas.
SkyBet carries out background checks on its TV betting customers, verifying their age and also investigating their credit history with the aim of preventing problem gamblers using its services.
SkyBet’s revenues increased to &£91m for the six months to the end of December last year, up from &£43m for the same period the previous year.
