Woolworths uses new characters
Woolworths is using two new characters – an excitable fun-loving sheep called Wooly and a long-suffering and bargain-conscious sheepdog named Worth – for its Easter advertising campaign. If the two puppet characters prove to be successful, Woolworths will continue to employ them in future campaigns. The first execution will show them shopping for bargains at Woolworths Kingston-upon-Thames store, in time for Easter. Worth becomes increasingly worried as Wooly rushes around the store grabbing armfuls of merchandise and giving them to the sheepdog to carry. But Worth is re-assured when he realises that everything is included in a three-for-two mix and match offer across marked products in all ranges. Bartle Bogle Hegarty created the campaign, which will continue to use the line ‘Let’s have some fun’. Woolworths is due to report its full-year results next Wednesday (March 24) and is expected to announce that its Big W concept will be axed.
