Norwich Union is reviewing its &£11m brand, life and pensions advertising account, held by McCann-Erickson.
It is not known whether Norwich Union, the UK’s largest insurer, will consolidate all its advertising work into a single agency. It is split between McCann and Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO (AMV), which is responsible for the &£7.2m Norwich Union Direct account,
The review is being handled by Agency Insight, which has shortlisted AMV, Mother, Fallon and McCann to pitch for the business.
The review is to be overseen by Norwich Union director of marketing strategy and communications Sally Shire, who has responsibility for both sides of the business. Norwich Union Insurance marketing director John Kitson and director of customer management Brian Richards will assist.
McCann was originally awarded the entire Norwich Union account in 2000, after the merger of Norwich Union and CGU, but it lost the Norwich Union Direct account to AMV at the end of 2002. AMV has since created the “Quote me happy” advertising for Norwich Union Direct.
Norwich Union uses Brand Connection for all its media buying and planning.
