The egg-chasers: who came first?

Following your news story (MW last week) about the RFU’s proposed new (“first”) advertising campaign, through Lowe, I feel duty bound to point out that Arc (or IMP, as it was then) was producing above-the-line ads for the RFU, promoting the Tetley Bitter Cup, as far back as 1999.

The annual campaigns won industry awards for photography and integration and inspired The Guardian (February 24, 2001) to comment “Step forward all you gallant men and women in marketing and ticket sales, for never before have so many flocked to a rugby field in England against such apparently overwhelming odds.”
