Virgin Money selects head of marketing

Virgin Money has appointed Trevor Field as marketing director following a management restructure.

Field will work alongside Ker Tyler, who has been promoted from sales and marketing director to director of operations, with a remit to focus on sales and service.

Field joins Virgin Money from First Division football club West Bromwich Albion, where he was director of marketing. He has previously worked for Abbey, Cheltenham & Gloucester, Egg and Principality Building Society.

Next month Virgin Money will launch general insurance products created in partnership with Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). It has also just launched a credit card co-branded with Lastminute.com

Virgin Money creates most of its below-the-line activity in house but retains Rainey Kelly Campell Roalfe/Y&R as its advertising agency.

Virgin sold its offset mortgage business, the Virgin One Account, to RBS in 2001. It has since been rebranded as the One Account, after RBS’s licence to use the Virgin name expired.
