The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has appointed former Orange and Capital Radio marketing chief Lizzie Palmer as an adviser as part of its attempt to strengthen its marketing and research credentials.
Palmer quit as director of worldwide brand at Orange in September last year to set up her own consultancy. She also held the position of marketing director of Capital Radio. She will take up the part-time role of strategic marketing adviser for the IAB.
Palmer will oversee the IAB’s advertising campaign and manage its agency, Masius. The trade body has already carried out press advertising targeting marketers and is planning more activity for the early summer.
The IAB has also created two part-time industry initiative leader positions. It has appointed Richard Holman, former managing director of online sales house AdLink and Andrew Gerrard, former EMEA marketing director of Doubleclick, the online marketing tools supplier.
Holman will develop resources for agencies and media owners and review the way the online industry explains its offerings to clients. Gerrard will explore how online is helping marketers within specific sectors and will initially look at how marketers can reach a female audience online.
The IAB has also created a number of permanent positions, including an events manager and a marketing research executive. The organisation is to appoint a permanent head of marketing.
