Wella jobs on the line as P&G moves in

The future of veteran Wella marketing chief Robert Bartlett and managing director Wilfred Richter is uncertain after Procter & Gamble failed to offer either a position at the company following the completion of its takeover.

Marketing functions at Wella have now been transferred to P&G in the UK, but no role at the company has been found for either consumer executive director Bartlett or chairman and managing director Richter.

Group marketing manager Cecilia Fleming, who was the most senior marketer in Wella’s consumer division, has already left the company. It is believed she has not yet found a job.

Up to 700 of Wella’s 2,000-strong global marketing and sales team are understood to have been made redundant as part of last year’s &£2.2bn licensing deal that saw P&G take responsibility for the Wella brands.

Bartlett has worked for Wella in various marketing and managing roles for the past 28 years. Bartlett says he will continue to work at Wella until the end of the year.
