Capital Radio creates new content arm

Capital Radio Group has created a content development department as part of a restructure of its commercial sales team. The move aims to refocus its brand sales team to increase its focus on content.

The content development arm will be headed by brand sales director Mike Hope Milne, and will forge closer links between the commercial and programming departments. It will also include Capital’s cross-selling venture with IPC Ignite! and Viacom Brand Solution, RSVP, which was set-up this year.

Hope Milne will also take back responsibility for sponsorship and promotion, which he handled until his promotion to brand sales director last year (MW May 22, 2003). He will also take on interactive sales.

John McGeough, sales director, took over the S&P division when he joined Capital last September (MW September 11, 2003) but will now handle all client-facing sales. The changes take effect in August.

The group is also looking for two marketing directors to handle the FM Network and its developing brands division, which includes Xfm.
