Chrysalis Radio is reviewing the &£1m advertising account for its flagship London station, Heart 106.2 FM. Incumbent Elliott Bora Perlmutter is being invited to repitch.

The review, handled by the AAR, is being overseen by marketing director Steve Parkinson. It is in the early stages, although agencies have already been approached. Parkinson says the group will also review its media account, held by Starcom MediaVest, but it is unlikely to hold a pitch in the near future as it has begun work on plans for next year with the agency.

The station’s most recent television campaign promoted its breakfast show, presented by Jono Coleman and Harriet Scott, but the station has also been using TV to promote the Heart brand and playlist.

Last year, the station briefly overtook 95.8 Capital FM as the most listened-to station in London. According to Rajar figures, the station had its highest share of London listening – 7.2 per cent – for the quarter ending September 14, 2003.

The station has now slipped back into second place, and it is understood that it has come under increasing pressure from Capital’s relaunched breakfast show, which is hosted by Johnny Vaughan. Vaughan replaced Chris Tarrant in April.
