Mitsubishi UK to choose dm agency

Mitsubishi Motors UK is poised to appoint a direct marketing agency. The company has been without a permanent agency since it split with The Fine Company following the agency’s purchase by McCann Erickson.

Three undisclosed agencies have been shortlisted to pitch alongside Golley Direct, which has been looking after Mitsubishi’s direct marketing account temporarily. The review is being overseen by Mitsubishi general manager of marketing Haydn Davies, who says a result is expected within the next three weeks.

After it split with The Fine Company, Mitsubishi postponed a review as it was about to launch four new cars, the Colt, Evolution 8, Grandis and Outlander.

Mitsubishi Motors Europe (MME) uses Amsterdam-based agency Strawberry Frog for its advertising. However, its UK operation, owned by the Colt Car Company, uses Golley Slater for its advertising.

Mitsubishi Motor Corporation is being restructured following a financial crisis and the decision of DaimlerChrysler to walk away from its 34 per cent shareholding.
