Golden Vale plans £3m snack launch

Golden Vale, the snacks company owned by Kerry Foods, is launching a range of premium snacks called Brunchettas aimed at the convenience market.

The launch will be supported by a &£3m marketing package, including television.

The range, which is due in stores next month, is aimed at the premium end of the adult snacking market. The product consists of little pieces of crunchy bread which come with processed cheese and one of five different dips. There are five variants in the range, including pineapple and chilli, ploughmans and red pepper and onion.

Industry insiders say it is a key launch for Golden Vale, which also makes children’s snack Cheestrings, and it has worked hard to make the packaging appeal to the top end of the market. The snack will come in 90g packs and will cost &£1.69.

Kerry Foods, which has eight divisions across the UK and Ireland, makes a variety of products including meat products, dairy spreads, ready meals and snacks. It owns a variety of brands such as Mattessons, Richmond and Wall’s.
