Richmond Foods, the ice cream manufacturer, is seeking an advertising agency ahead of a relaunch of its portfolio of Nestlé ice cream brands. The company is known to be keen to exploit the Nestlé brand as well as the sub-brands.
The Nestlé range includes a range of well-known products including children’s brands Fab and Zoom as well as Smarties, Yorkie and the newly launched Toffee Crisp ice cream. It also includes a range of different formats including lollies and tubs. It is understood that the review is being handled by the AAR.
The advertising was previously handled by Nestlé’s roster agency J Walter Thompson, before the brands were sold to Richmond in 2001. The brands have not been advertised since Richmond took over.
Richmond, which is based in Yorkshire, has been focusing on building up its business through acquisition including merger with the Treats Group. This added brands such as Festival and Zzapp, and Allied Frozen Foods, which was a leading maker of soft-scoop ice cream. It also launched a low-fat variant, Skinny Cow, to its range earlier this year.
The company is also a key supplier of own-brand ice cream to the supermarkets as well as a major player in branded products.
