Gaming site signs exclusive deals with Yahoo! Europe and BT Yahoo!

Midasplayer.com has signed an exclusive deal with Yahoo! Europe to supply its “skill gaming” content to Yahoo! Games sites in the UK, France and Germany, as well as BT Yahoo! internet services in the UK.

Midasplayer.com will be given full content integration within the Yahoo! Games Channel and will be promoted across Yahoo!’s European network, including the Yahoo! homepage.

The games company already has similar agreements with other large online publishers and portals, including MSN.co.uk and MSN’s German and Swedish sites, and Lycos Europe.

Midasplayer.com chief operating officer Toby Rowland says: “This agreement means that we have secured the majority of large distribution partners in Europe.”

Midasplayer.com has developed a pan-European platform, which lets registered users pay to compete against each other online in relatively simple games of skill. The company has 17 games in its portfolio, and runs over 3 million games a month, in Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian and Swedish, using pounds, euros, Swedish kroner or dollars.

Rowland stresses that Midasplayer.com games feature no element of chance and hence are not considered to be gambling, so avoiding the need to adhere to gambling regulations.

He says the majority of Midasplayer.com gamers are women, who “haven’t really bought in to games that take 12 hours to play”.
