Shiseido UK appoints marketing supremo

Luxury cosmetics brand Shiseido UK has appointed Nicola Stott as sales and marketing director after its merger with sister brand, Décleor UK. She joins from luxury spa brand Elemis, where she was sales director.

The merged entity will be overseen by Décleor UK managing director David Lieber, who has been promoted to a group managing director role and will also handle premium skincare brand Carita UK.

Shiseido has also appointed Hilary Dart as brand consultant. She has held similar roles in the past at retailer Selfridges and Calvin Klein.

It is understood that Shiseido has been merged with Décleor to help improve brand awareness and its share of the UK market. It follows the acquisition of Décleor UK and Carita UK in January by the French company Décleor SAS, which is owned by the Shiseido Corporation.

The Shiseido range, which includes a full range of face, body and haircare products as well as a men’s range, is available from a number of high-end stockists across the country. Lieber says that the brand aims to broaden its distribution while maintaining the quality of the product.

Leiber launched the Décleor brand in the UK in 1974 and developed nationwide distribution by 1983. It is reported to have an annual turnover of &£14m.
