OAG appoints Guava for search campaign

Guava, the digital agency, has been appointed by airline flight information provider OAG to carry out a global pay-per-click campaign to drive take-up of OAG’s consumer-facing information services, both online and delivered to handheld devices such as personal digital assistants (PDAs).

Over the next 12 months, Guava will be constantly updating thousands of search terms on major search engines, such as Google and Overture, covering all the world’s major travel hubs. Guava will also be handling creative work and media planning and buying for OAG’s first pan-European banner advertising campaign.

OAG was founded more than 70 years ago as the Official Airline Guide. It consolidates information on all scheduled flights around the world, and supplies timetables and flight information to the airline industry, travel agencies, corporate travel departments and individual travellers.

Although still publishing timetables and schedules on paper and also CD-ROM, OAG also offers online information services and products for PDAs and mobiles. It is relaunching its website to add more travel-related information and also to allow access to its subscription-based service, oagflights.com, which lists all scheduled flights whether direct or connecting.

OAG marketing director for Europe Carol Stokes says: “OAG customers don’t have hours to trawl through the internet to find their flight information. They need to be able to access all scheduled flights worldwide on one site. It is important to our business that we are the first supplier consumers come across.”
