Netflix delays UK launch

Netflix, the US online DVD rental pioneer, has put off its UK launch, originally planned for later this year, for at least 12 months. The move follows last week’s warning by Netflix chief executive Reed Hastings that the company was scaling back expansion plans outside the US because it expects Amazon.com to launch a rival service imminently. Netflix share price fell 41 per cent after the announcement. Amazon.com has refused to comment.
