DoubleClick may be up for sale

DoubleClick, the US online advertising firm, may be put up for sale. New York-based DoubleClick, which last week warned that fourth- quarter earnings would be lower than expected, has hired bankers Lazard Freres to explore ways to give more value to shareholders, including a sale, recapitalisation, spin-off, share repurchase, or extraordinary dividend.
