Organic milk group hunts agency for branding task

The Organic Milk Suppliers Co-operative (OMSCO) is seeking an advertising agency for the first time to help build awareness of its brand and its work in raising standards across the organic dairy market.

The review, which is being handled by the AAR, is at an early stage and a shortlist has yet to be drawn up. The co-operative is keen to raise awareness of the work it does and the products that are made from milk produced by its member farms. It is understood that it also considering using its brand as a form of quality standard for organic consumers.

OMSCO has previously used public relations and strategic marketing to raise awareness, such as using its logo across a range of organic products including Yeo Valley yoghurts and Sainsbury’s organic milk. It has also been involved with fundraising projects such as the OMSCO Sports Relief Trikeathon, and it also has a partnership with the Eden Project.

The co-operative was formed in 1994 and is the largest organic dairy co-operative in the UK, with over 300 members. It supplies half of all organic milk to a range of processors; it does not sell its milk directly to consumers.
