Müller Dairy UK has appointed Masterfoods petcare marketer Chris McDonough as marketing director. It is understood that he will join the company imminently.

McDonough has already left his previous role as Masterfoods petcare marketing director in Germany, where he had worked for a year. He will replace Mike Driver, who is leaving Müller to join management consultancy Myriad Consulting, and will report to UK managing director Andrew Harrison.

McDonough has had a variety of marketing roles with the Masterfoods petcare division. He joined the company as a marketing manager but left to join Bacardi-Martini as marketing controller for the Martini brand. He then returned to Masterfoods as a brand manager for the European team before being promoted to marketing director last year.

He joins Müller as the company is going through a period of change. Harrison, former marketing director at Nestlé Rowntree, joined the company in April (MW January 8). His arrival was immediately followed by the departure of former managing director Ken Wood, who had been promoted to an international role. He left to join cereal brand Weetabix as chief executive.

Müller has also undertaken an agency review, which saw it switch its £13m advertising business from Publicis to TBWA/London (MW September 23).
