William Hill appoints online chief

Gambling giant William Hill has promoted group marketing director Peter Nolan to head its online and interactive business. He replaces Bill Haygarth, who has retired.

The company is searching for an internal replacement for Nolan to lead its marketing department, although Nolan will retain marketing duties for the interactive division. As group director for the company’s interactive business, he will oversee the company’s online and mobile channels, as well as the William Hill television channel on Sky Digital, which launched last month.

Williamhill.co.uk is one of the leading internet betting sites in the UK, and also offers a range of lottery and casino games. Nolan says the interactive business generates about 15 per cent of William Hill’s revenue.

Nolan says there are no plans to review the company’s agency roster following the marketing reshuffle. He recently renewed the contract of i-level to handle its &£2m online media account.
