Lornamead picks chief for Euro team

Cosmetics and haircare company Lornamead Group has appointed Morwenna Angove as European marketing director. Angove joins after five years as sales and marketing director at Eurocamp. She has also held senior marketing positions at Allied-Domecq and Bass.

Lornamead is owned by the Jatania family and specialises in buying brands in decline from companies and then reinvigorating them. The company’s portfolio includes Gold Spot, Harmony, Lypsyl, Natural White toothpaste, Sally Hansen and Te Tao.

Angove will be based in Farnborough, Hampshire, and reports to European managing director Leslie Barber. She has a brief to review Lornamead’s brand portfolio and strategy, and will also work on potential acquisitions. The company has a worldwide portfolio of about 20 brands, but is expected to consolidate these into eight master brands.

The company uses media agencies ALJ Media and Concorde for media planning and buying and many of its advertising campaigns are developed in house or by US agencies.
