SR Gent seeks advertising agency for first branded clothing range

Clothing manufacturer SR Gent is seeking an advertising agency for the launch of its first branded clothing range. It is understood that the company has a shortlist of three undisclosed agencies.

The company, which is based in Barnsley, is planning to make a decision before Christmas. It is understood to be launching the range to lessen its reliance on orders from its customers, which include Marks & Spencer and Top Shop. The brand will be launched next year although it is not clear if any distribution deals have been signed.

SR Gent offers customers, which also include upmarket children’s brand OshKosh and department store Liberty of London, a variety of services from the design and manufacture of clothing ranges to sourcing and distribution. It has a design centre based in London, which it claims is one of the largest in Europe, and offices in Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. The company is working with Boots to develop a premium range of children’s wear called Molly ‘n’ Jack. It will be launched in February and aimed at the newborn to four-year-olds market.
