Thomson in food brand promo deals

Holiday company Thomson has lined up two third-party promotions, with Old El Paso and KP Nuts, as part of its drive to develop partnerships and maintain its “power brand” status.

The initiative will see the Thomson brand appear on 2 million packs of General Mills-owned Old El Paso products, including Fajitas, Enchiladas, Tacos and Nachos.

Customers who buy the packs will get a voucher worth &£100 off a Thomson holiday and will have the chance to win a holiday to Mexico with Thomson Faraway Shores.

Similar discount vouchers will appear on United Biscuits’ KP Nuts range, varying in value depending on pack size.

Thomson is keen to forge direct relationships with brand owners and to create promotions to strengthen its position as a power brand. Affinity and promotions manager Jeremy Osborne says: “We’re actively seeking financial and packaged goods partners with which we can develop long-term strategic relationships. We have an excellent consumer proposition for marketing and brand managers.”

The company has a website, www.tuiuk-incentives.co.uk, for brands considering promotion or incentive partnerships.

It has previously run a promotion with Whittard of Chelsea, negotiated by SP Partnerships.
