Kerrygold chief’s exit sparks rejig

Kerrygold marketing director Brendan Doyle will retire at the end of this month after 35 years with the company. His departure will result in a marketing restructure at the Irish dairy products company.

As part of the restructure, sales director Ray Levett will become sales and marketing director. Alison Palmer, who joins the company from advertising agency Cheetham Bell JWT, will be given the new title of marketing controller.

At the agency, Palmer has worked on the Sugar Puffs and Ovaltine brands and was responsible for the latest Senokot and Gaviscon television advertisements.

Levett says: “The realignment is to focus marketing on developing our branded products, particularly with added-value campaigns.” He adds that aims for the new strategy include re-evaluating opportunities to support existing products and launching new ones.

Doyle is taking early retirement to spend time on his interests and at his new holiday home in Cyprus.
