TMS names Draft chief as Euro boss

Global integrated agency The Marketing Store (TMS) has poached Catherine Gale, a senior executive with Interpublic Group’s Draft network, to be its European chief executive. The appointment follows a major restructure and a six-month search for someone to head the European operation.

Gale will report to TMS global chief operating officer Dave Tridle and will handle existing big-name European clients, including Cereal Partners Worldwide, McDonald’s, Shell and Unilever. She will also be working on new business. Reporting to her will be a new European management team and the managing directors of TMS’s European offices.

Gale has had a long and high-profile career, including stints as WCRS European marketing director, business development director at OgilvyOne in London, Grey Direct International managing director and head of the integrated communications division at Saatchi & Saatchi. She has been with Draft for three years, most recently as managing director for the Asia-Pacific region. She had responsibility for $70m- (£37m-) worth of business from clients that include HSBC, Johnson & Johnson, Singapore Airlines and Unilever.

TMS has a global turnover of £275m across 11 offices.
