CIM seeks marketing director to raise profile

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is looking for a marketing director, who will be responsible for the brand positioning of the organisation.

The CIM marketing director will be in charge of the CIM brand as well as taking on a public relations role. He or she will report to newly installed chief executive Christine Cryne, who was appointed to the role earlier this year (MW January 27).

Cryne says: “There are certain issues the CIM needs to be committed to, such as corporate social responsibility and OFRs [operating and financial reviews] and we need a marketing director to spearhead that. The organisation also needs to raise the profile of marketing and marketers and the new position will help me in doing so.”

Cryne is responsible for increasing the CIM’s membership, as well as shouldering overall responsibility for the organisation’s strategy and financial operations. A former director of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, Cryne replaced Peter Fisk, who left last year (MW March 8, 2004). She took over in March, from interim chief executive John Coke.
