The review was handled by Agency Insight, which drew up an initial shortlist of five agencies before narrowing it down to two.

Vodafone and the agencies involved would not confirm the appointment as Marketing Week went to press, but it is believed Partners Andrews Aldridge will be officially handed the business by the end of the week.

The review follows an internal restructure at Vodafone, which saw the marketing functions for its corporate and SME business-to-business divisions combined.

It has been suggested that Vodafone’s consumer direct marketing account, which is also held by Harrison Troughton Wunderman, will be next to be reviewed.

Last month, Vodafone UK head of brand and marketing communications Martin Tod left the company after three years (MW May 19). He will be replaced by brand and communications team member Dominic Chambers until a permanent successor is found.

During his time at the company, Tod was involved in the launch of Vodafone Live! in 2002, as well as Vodafone Live! for 3G last year. He reported directly to UK chief marketing officer Tim Yates.
