Take a break from the norm

The Diary’s daydream that a swanky cocktail bar suddenly appears in the office is unlikely to come true, but staff at research company Synovate are about to discover that the afternoon tea-break can, on occasion, be prefixed by “Long Island iced”.

Cognac brand Hennessy has come up with a wizard wheeze to liven up work – by turning it into a drinking session. Mobile bars are to be set up in companies’ offices, with bartenders on hand to mix cocktails and talk about Hennessy’s brandies.

Sadly, the Marketing Week office seems to have been left off the schedule. What a cognac. (And yes, the Diary is aware there’s no brandy in a Long Island iced tea.)
