Darling, I’m having such a fabulous week

It’s been a bit of a drab summer, really. Lots of grey days, scruffy off-white skirts everywhere and cricketers giving interviews in nasty Formula One-style tracksuits instead of nice sharp suits.

What the country needs is a touch of glamour, and who better to provide it than, er, Glamour magazine? From September 5 to 10, Glamour will be running National Glamour Week, featuring “Random Acts of Glamour”, which will involve giving cars to random female passers-by around the UK. Lucky them.

The magazine has also organised discounts at a range of different stores. There’s 20 per cent off at Top Shop, 20 per cent off at Oasis, 20 per cent off at Dorothy Perkins, 20 per cent at Warehouse, 20 per cent off at Gap, 20 per cent off at Debenhams, 20 per cent off at Kurt Geiger, 20 per cent off at Nails Inc and 25 per cent off at Essensuals. By the Diary’s calculation, that makes a well-nigh impossible 185 per cent. Now that’s glamorous.
