Utility comparison site uSwitch.com is linking up with the Express Newspaper Group for a year-long reader offer, running in the Daily Express, Sunday Express and Daily Star, as well as all the media group’s websites, including the recently launched DailySnack.com.

DailyStar.co.uk, DailyExpress.co.uk and DailySnack.com visitors will be able to use the site’s online comparison tools to enter details of recent energy bills and information such as the number of rooms in their home. This will produce a table showing all the suppliers available in their area and comparing variables such as price, customer service ratings and special features. Visitors can then choose to click through to switch to a different provider, save or research the products further.

The same information is available on the telephone for readers who call a special number featured in the offer.

USwitch.com is an independent site that allows consumers to compare the prices and deals offered by suppliers of services including gas, electricity, broadband and home phone calls. Consumers can also use the site to switch suppliers.

USwitch.com head of sales Michael Phillips says: “We have over 130 internet partnerships, but this is the first time we have included a cross-media reader offer.”

The offer begins this week.

Northern & Shell internet development controller Farzad Jamal adds: “Many people don’t realise just how much money they could save by switching providers. Now our readers can contact a call centre to discuss their options while the online comparison calculators and editorial will add important content to our websites.”
