Epson signs deal to sponsor Discovery Real Time show

Epson UK, the manufacturer of colour printers and imaging equipment, has teamed up with digital television channel Discovery Real Time to sponsor a new photography show called Hot Shots.

The show, which starts at the end of October, will feature Epson sponsorship idents at either end of the show and in the ad breaks. Epson uses sponsorship of technology and imagery programmes to help boost consumer awareness of what its products can do.

Each episode in the Hot Shots series will give three contributors of varying levels of ability the opportunity to learn from artistic experts of various genres, and from celebrity photographers. The show’s participants will be encouraged to take photos and print them out on a portable printer, with the expert on hand to provide critique.

Hot Shots is being produced by Twofour, a producer of factual entertainment TV programmes.

As part of its brand awareness initiative Epson is a prolific sponsor of sports events. It has sponsored the European Athletic Association (EAA) since in 2000 and has been also the official technical partner of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) since 1997. Epson provides support including commentator and media information systems, products and technical expertise.

Epson (UK) is a European sales and marketing subsidiary of the Seiko Epson Corporation, a global manufacturer of printers, computers, watches and other technology products. Epson’s history spans more than 100 years with a heritage that began in watch making and led to the invention of the world’s first quartz watch.
