COI prepares to announce 36m direct marketing agency roster

COI Communications is set to add two leading direct marketing agencies to its 36m below-the-line roster, following a six-month review.

It is understood that Harrison Troughton Wunderman and EHS Brann will be among the 23 agencies on the new roster, which has been slimmed down from 26.

The review covered all aspects of the COI’s direct marketing. It is thought that 97 agencies submitted bids.

The process was conducted by the AAR and overseen by COI director of direct and relationship marketing Marc Michaels.

It is thought the roster will also include Craik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel, WWAV Rapp Collins Rapier and Tullo Marshall Warren. Lida, the direct arm of M&C Saatchi, could lose out.

Earlier this year, the COI dumped five networks – Euro RSCG, Grey, JWT, Saatchi & Saatchi and Ogilvy & Mather – from its £157.6m advertising business (MW August 19).

The shake-up, led by chief executive Alan Bishop, saw Wieden & Kennedy, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Vallance Carruthers Coleman Priest and Clemmow Hornby Inge win places on the roster.

None of the agencies or the COI were available for comment as Marketing Week went to press.
