Condé Nast launches London edition of US traders’ magazine

Trader Monthly, a New York-based financial and lifestyle magazine, was launched in London this week with the backing of Condé Nast International.

The publication, which targets City traders and hedge-fund managers with a combination of inside-track information and lifestyle content, celebrates its first anniversary in the US this month.

The European edition will share the New York edition’s strapline, “See it, make it, spend it”. It will have a controlled circulation, given out free to 50,000 people, compared with 100,000 in New York. Non-traders will be able to subscribe online for &£10 an issue.

The publisher of the European edition will be Clare Dove, formerly group advertising director at IPC Southbank and director of advertising at Mirror Group Newspapers, and now publisher for Condé Nast’s contracts division. Most of the other managing executives are being brought in from the US by New York publisher Doubledown Media.

Dove explains: “Trader Monthly’s readers are young men with an average annual income of &£250,000, who work, live and spend in a unique and enviable way. The magazine is gold-dust for advertisers.”

Condé Nast recently launched Glamour in the Netherlands, the 13th edition of the title to be published worldwide.
