Grey considering Bowles as leader on Nokia account

Former WCRS managing partner Jeremy Bowles is believed to be in talks with WPP-owned Grey about joining the agency to run the Nokia account.

Former WCRS managing partner Jeremy Bowles (pictured) is believed to be in talks with WPP-owned Grey about joining the agency to run the Nokia account.

Bowles, who left WCRS in April, is understood to be on a shortlist of candidates for the role.

Bowles, a former managing director of Lowe, joined WCRS in August last year as part of a restructure that followed the agency’s management buyout. He was given six months to buy equity in the agency but left as the deadline to buy approached.

Nokia appointed Interpublic’s Lowe to create a global advertising campaign for its new multimedia handsets at the start of the year (MW February 10).

But Grey still remains the mobile manufacturer’s main agency partner in Europe and the US, despite the company putting the majority of its ad spend into the new generation of handsets.

Grey and Bowles were both unavailable for comment as Marketing Week went to press.
