Where marketers can show their true colours

Proof at last that marketers aren’t just soulless hawkers, in thrall to the monolithic corporations whose tatty wares they push to the bovine masses. On the contrary, they are noble, delicate souls in search of fertile ground in which their fragile talents can flower.

Or is that just what they want us to think?

Either way, communications industry charity NABS is launching an exhibition of marketers’ art, at the Old Truman Brewery in East London. The show, selections from which are shown here, features work by luminaries including Souk managing partner Patrick Mills, the Inge from Clemmow Hornby Inge and Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO bar assistant Rachel Thorlby (the Diary’s application to work for AMV is in the post already).

The Diary hopes everything goes smoothly, and wishes the organisers luck when it comes to revealing to the artists that “pictures” are not the same as “pitches” and that the best one won’t win a place on Diageo’s new roster.
