Compromise over sale of football TV rights

The Premier League and the European Commission have agreed a compromise over the sale of football TV rights. Matches will be divided into six tranches of 23 games. No single broadcaster will be able to buy all the packages, which will be ‘platform neutral’ to encourage new entrants such as BT and AOL.
