New Campaign – The Samaritans

The Samaritans is launching its annual winter campaign next week with a new press and poster ad designed to let people know that their counsellors can help with all kinds of emotional problems.

The colourful, psychedelic style poster, created by Lunar Communications, carries the strapline/ “If for any reason your life doesn’t feel quite like this, get in touch.” The imagery, which is a departure from previous Samaritans campaigns, is designed to resonate with young people and those from the baby-boomer generation. The campaign comes in the wake of research showing that although the young turn to their peers for help more than older people when they are down, most still find some topics hard to broach.

The posters are designed to show that Samaritans is a 24/7 confidential and non-judgmental service for problems people feel uncomfortable raising with their friends. The campaign has the backing of celebrities including Zoe Ball, Cliff Richard and Michael Aspel.
