Compromise over sale of football TV rights

The Premier League and the European Commission have agreed a compromise over the sale of football TV rights. Matches will be divided into six tranches of 23 games. No single broadcaster will be able to buy all the packages, which will be ‘platform neutral’ to encourage new entrants such as BT and AOL.

WorldDAB elects Quentin Howard

WorldDAB, the international promotional body for digital audio broadcasting (DAB), has elected Quentin Howard as its president. Howard is chief executive of UK national commercial DAB multiplex Digital One. He replaces Annika Nyberg, director of programmes for Finnish Broadcasting Company.
