Murray complainers: the joke’s on you

I thought the two letters about Iain Murray’s PR comment (Letters, MW December 15) were a joke at first. Alas and bloody alack, no. Once again, two paragons of some vague professional virtue were banging on seamlessly about unfair practice from a journalist whose job is to be wry, amusing and (thankfully) non-virtuous.

As far as I can tell, my PR colleagues – mostly really great ladies (some fluffy) with all sorts of hair colouring, various teeth undoubtedly akimbo – thought the article was fun.

Murray wasn’t being rude or sexist or cavalier. He was having a bit of fun and, for goodness sake, that’s not such a bad thing right now. Is it?
