Dickinson to front IdealDeal drive

Bargain website IdealDeal. com has signed up television antiques expert and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here contestant David Dickinson as the face of its marketing and advertising.

IdealDeal.com launched at the end of last year, and offers a continuously changing portfolio of one-off offers and bargains. The company claims that all products sold on its website are “genuine branded goods” and says that certificates of authenticity are available upon request “for many goods”. Products on sale include famous names such as Sony, Toshiba, Breville, Parker and Bosch.

Dickinson was signed up for the endorsement by creative agency The LAB. He will now feature on the website and will take part in a marketing campaign (mainly PR-based).

Dickinson, who found fame as presenter of the BBC series Bargain Hunt, is probably best know to consumers for his catchphrase “Cheap as chips!”. He has previously appeared in TV advertising for bargain television shopping channel Bid-Up.tv (MW July 29, 2004) and Tetley Tea, and in press ads for Comet.
